Privacy in the repository
The Institutional Repository processes personal data in accordance with Law 1581 of 2012 and the personal data processing policy of Universidad Surcolombiana (Resolution 087 of 2021, in Spanish). This page explains what the repository records.
Usage statistics
Every view and download is recorded to produce the repository's public statistics: the date, the document, the IP address, the browser and, from the IP, the approximate country and city. Robot visits are identified and not counted.
After 90 days the IP address is anonymised: its last segment and the host name are deleted. Country and city are kept.
Location is computed on the server itself with MaxMind's GeoLite2 database: the IP address is not sent to third parties.
User accounts
No registration is needed to read or download. Anyone who creates an account (to deposit, administer or subscribe to collections) provides their name and email address, which are used only for the account and its notifications.
Copy requests and feedback
Anyone who requests a copy of a restricted document («Request a copy») provides their name, email address and, optionally, a message. The repository stores them with the request, and the Library System uses them only to answer it.
Feedback sent through the repository's form reaches the Library System by email, with the sender's address, and is used only to handle it.
Cookies
The repository uses the technical cookies it needs to work (session, language and accessibility preferences). Any other cookie is only used with your consent, which you can change in «Cookie settings» at the foot of every page.
Security
The site is always served encrypted (HTTPS), loads no third-party fonts or scripts and follows the University's information security and privacy policy (Resolution 255 of 2023).
Your rights
You may access, update, correct or request the deletion of your data through the University's channels: PQRSDCF.
